Pakistan made 168 runs in 27 overs over the loss of one wicket. Lankan opener Danushka Gunathilaka reached his third fifty of 56 deliveries, as he smashed Iftikhar Ahmed for a boundary in the 18th over. Fans in party mood Fast bowler Mohammad Amir picked the first wicket for his side in the third over, after he claimed the wicket of Avishka Fernando, who got caught behind by Sarfaraz Ahmed on 4. Off spinner Mohammad Nawaz got the breakthrough for Pakistan after he caught and bowled Lahiru Thrimanne on 36 in the 20th over, ending the 88 runs second wicket partnership with Gunathilaka. Speedster Usman Shinwari joined the action after he picked the scalp of Angelo Perera who got caught by Haris Sohail, after making 13 runs off 25 deliveries. Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first against Pakistan. Pakistan has made two changes in the squad with Imam-ul-Haq out after he was not available for selection due to an injury in his left hand, which he sustained while fielding in the second ODI against Sri Lanka.
