Pakistan's former captain and leg spinner Shahid Afridi has advised fellow leggie Shadab Khan to bowl more ‘googly’ deliveries to counter the Sri Lankan left-handers in the ongoing T20I series. “Shadab is not looking confident while bowling, as that confidence comes when you take wickets. I have been watching his bowling for quite some time and it is not what it used to be. The leggie is totally confused to bowl against left handers,” he said, in a video. “Shadab bowls a much better googly then I used to bowl so he should used those googlies more often against the left-handers,” he said. Afridi added that it is very important for Pakistan to have an in-form Shadab. “The other thing that I would tell Shadab is that he should bowl wicket-to-wicket as much as possible.” Afridi further said that Pakistan's fielding during the series has been poor as they failed to grab chances despite mediocre display of running between the wickets by Sri Lanka. “We have failed to grab the opportunities despite chances provided by the opposition,” he said. Speaking about the inclusion of Ahmed Shehzad and Umar Akmal, the former captain said that the duo failed to make an impression and that has brought head coach-cum-chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq under pressure. “There were a lot of expectations from Ahmed Shehzad and Umar Akmal. They failed to live up to those expectations. It is a tough situation for Misbah-ul-Haq as well, as questions are being raised over the duo inclusion," he said. Afridi added that Misbah would need to make some tough decisions now, but he should have talent on the bench to make those decisions. “There should be strong character players on the bench, allowing Misbah to take decisions freely, unfortunately the situation is not such, that is why I think that we should have an alternative for every player” he said.
