NAB pleas approved by IHC

Islamabad High Court (IHC) Thursday approved National Accountability Bureau's (NAB's) applications seeking permission to submit the record earlier produced in the Accountability Court as well as order to attach it with the under-trial appeal against the acquittal of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in the Flagship reference.

The IHC bench comprising Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani ordered attachment of additional documents with the main appeal.

Deputy Prosecutor NAB Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi filed miscellaneous applications in the IHC.

According to pleas, the documents include a chart pertaining to wealth statements of accused Nawaz Sharif, Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz Sharif in accordance with Federal Bureau of Revenue's (FBR's) record along with a list of exhibited documents as per the original record.

It said the chart pertains to companies duly established by the accused persons in the United Arab Emirate (UAE), the United Kingdom (UK) and the British Virgin Islands (BVI) along with a list of exhibited documents.

The chart pertains to year-wise accumulated figures of financial injections by the accused persons in the UK, the UAE and BVI companies, along with a list of exhibited documents, it added.

The chart pertains to specific details of properties acquired and held in the names of companies wherein the accused are the owners along with a list of exhibited documents.

According to the NAB, this court on June 25 directed the Bureau to submit documents related to tax and properties record of Sharif. The documents had been submitted in the trial court and their original copies are also available, it said.
