Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) would fully participate in 'Azadi March' of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government on October 27. Former chairman Senate and Secretary General PPP Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari said this while addressing the media persons after offering Fateha for martyrs of Karsaz bombing incident. PPP leaders Farhatullah Babar, Aamir Fida Paracha and party workers participated in the event.
He said the PPP leaders and workers would participate in 'Azadi March' in every district of the country. He said that it is joint 'Azadi March' of nine opposition parties. He said that nine opposition parties have unanimously decided to participate in 'Azadi March' and enter Islamabad.
He said Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had announced schedule for public gatherings across the country. He said Bilawal would visit interior Sindh today (Saturday), adding that after addressing the public gatherings in Sindh, he would visit South Punjab.
The PPP leader said, "The party chairman has decided to send packing the PTI government. The PTI came into power through rigged election." He said people are in miserable condition due to increase in prices of food items and medicines and hefty electricity and gas bills.
He said PPP leadership and workers had always sacrificed for the restoration of democracy and supremacy of the Parliament. He said 177 PPP workers were martyred and more than 700 workers got injured in the attack on the Karsaz rally. Bukhari also showed serious concern over the health of co-chairman PPP and former president Asif Ali Zardari. He said PTI government was not shifting Zardari from Adiala Jail to hospital despite doctors' advice.
While taking to media persons, Babar said PPP had always raised voice for the rights of the people and sacrificed for strengthening democracy in the county. Answering a question, Babar said JUI-F workers in Khaki (light shade of brown with a yellowish tinge) uniform by carrying sticks in their hands are only for the purpose of security of the people of 'Azadi March.' "The JUI-F workers did not carry guns in their hands. On one hand, the people wear khaki dress while on the other, the people of khaki uniform have been involved in politics," he added.
