A three-day Pak-Pharma and Healthcare Expo-2020 will be held on February 11-13 at the Expo Centre Lahore without the participation of Chinese exhibitors as they have declined to visit Pakistan due to prevailing novel coronavirus situation in China.
As per the schedule, the exhibition and conference is being organised by Prime Event Management and is supported by Pakistan Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing Association (PPMA). Drug Regulatory Authority Pakistan (DRAP) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Asif Rauf will inaugurate the exhibition.
Other guests are PPMA Chairman Dr Mohammad Zaka Ur Rehman, PPMA North Zone's Chairman Dr Uzair Nagra and Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Irfan Iqbal Sheikh.
Prime Event Management Director Kamran Abbasi while talking to reporters said that around 65 local and foreign companies from different countries including China, Japan, Turkey, Malaysia, Taiwan and Korea had confirmed their participation in the event.
"However, following the complex situation of novel coronavirus in China, some 15 Chinese exhibitors have cancelled their visit to Pakistan. The event will be an important milestone in promotion of Pharma and healthcare industry of Punjab. It will bring together all the stakeholders of pharmaceutical industry under one roof during these three days," he said.
