KARACHI: Usain Bolt cemented his legendary status with his historic win for the second time in the 200 meters final.
Bolt became the first athlete to win the 100 and the 200 meters races in two consecutive Olympic games.
After winning the competition, the Jamaican sprinter said, “I'm now a living legend, I'm also the greatest athlete to live. To all the people who doubted me, who thought I would lose here, you can stop talking now. I am a living legend.”
Last week, the 25-year-old Bolt won the 100 meters final in a record-winning run of 9.63 seconds, making him the fastest man in the world.
“Ali was the greatest in his sport, Jordan the greatest in his, and I am the greatest in mine, so I guess I am at that level,” Bolt said.
While Bolt forced Blake to settle for silver again, the 22-year-old said, "This is my first Olympics...I can't complain."
