Pakistani highly acclaimed drama series ‘Pyare Afzal’ which ended on a tragic note where the main lead ‘Afzal’ played by Hamza Ali Abbasi dies in an accident, was planned by himself. Abbasi convinced the writer to kill him in the last episode.
Renowned writer, actor and director Khalil ur Rehman Qamar who has written many popular drama series including Landa Bazaar, Boota from Toba Tek Singh, Manjali, Bunty I love you, Pyarey Afzal and the most recent Sadqay Tumhare.
While talking to local media famous scriptwriter recently revealed that ‘Afzal’ death wasn’t his idea, there was quite a happy end planned for ‘Afzal’ but the lead character convinced him to change the plot. At a dinner where they happened to meet, Hamza got down on his knees and said, “Khalil bhai please kill me, it will make me alive for all time to come,” he recalls.
“Now this will remain in people’s hearts, and prick them like a stubborn thorn that they will remember for a long time to come,” he added.
Directed by Nadeem Baig and written by Khalil ur Rehman Qamar, ‘Pyare Afzal’ received overwhelming response from the Pakistani audience which was aired on ARY Digital. The star cast includes Hamza Ali Abbasi, Ayeza Khan, Anooshey Abbasi, Firdous Jamal, Sohai Ali Abro and Saba Hameed.
