Actress Jennifer Aniston played Rachel Green in the much-loved comedy sitcom ‘Friends’ between 1994 and 2004, but the actress says she was nearly replaced just before the show aired.
According to foreign media reports, Aniston said that producers were thinking of recasting the role of Rachel Green because of Aniston’s commitment to the short-lived series ‘Muddling Through’. Reportedly, Aniston also spoke about previous reports that the producers for ‘Friends’ originally wanted her to play Monica Geller.
The 45-year old actress, ‘Muddling Through’ only lasted three months so she was able to keep the role of Rachel, but confessed producers almost made her play Courteney Cox's character, Monica.
Her first two years on ‘Friends’, the Rachel character became very popular among women. Aniston gained worldwide recognition for portraying ‘Rachel’ on the popular television sitcom ‘Friends’. In 2012, Jennifer Aniston received a star on the Hollywood ‘Walk of Fame’ and also become one of the highest paid actresses in Hollywood.
