imageISLAMABAD: The office bearers and executive members of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) for the year 2013-14 were elected unopposed in the annual election held here Wednesday.

According to a statement issued here, Shaban Khalid has been elected as President, Khalid Mehmood Choudhary and Mirza Muhammad Ali as Senior Vice President and Vice President respectively.

Moreover, Ejaz Ibrahim, Ammad Naveed, Mian Muhammad Ramzan, Umer Rafiq, Babar Aftab Qazi, Muzzammil Hussain Sabri, Muhammad Shamim, Naeem-ur-Rehman Piracha and Ms. Wajiha Habib were elected as Executive Members.

The final results shall be announced on September, 30 in the Annual General Meeting of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce while the elected office bearers would take charge on October 1.

Nasir Khan, Abdul Ghaffar chaudhry and Muhammad Hussain performed duties as members of Election Commission.

Tariq Sadiq, Chairman Founder Group while congratulating the newly elected office bearers and executive members said that their unopposed election shows the great confidence and trust of the business community in the performance of group.

He hoped that the newly elected team would take further initiatives to provide greater facilitation to members and take Chamber to new heights.

Speaking on the occasion, newly elected members thanked all the members for posing confidence in them and assured that they would utilize all their talent and experience to promote the interests of business community.

Congratulating the newly elected team, Zafar Bakhtawari, President ICCI hoped that the young President and his team would take forward the good traditions set by their predecessors to serve the cause traders and industrialists and would do strong policy advocacy for the creation of business friendly environment in the country.
