QUETTA: Over 1.5 million trees have been planted in all districts of Balochistan during recent tree plantation campaign launched by the Forests and Wildlife Department.
The tree plantation campaign concluded on Thursday. Secretary Forests and Wildlife Department, Khudaay Raheem said " Over 1.5 million saplings and plants were planted in different districts of the province during the tree plantation campaign".
He said that 80,000 saplings and plants were planted in the provincial capital at sites including roadsides, schools, colleges and government offices.
The trees were planted on roadside in the metropolis including Spiny road, Sariab road, Gahi Khan chowk, Eastern Bypass road, Jinnah road, Gulistan road, Khezi chowk, Smuggli road and others.
The Secretary Forests and Wildlife Department along with Chief Conservator Forests, Akhtar Muhammad and other officials also inspected the sites in the provincial capital where saplings and plants were planted.
