ISLAMABAD: Minister for Interior, Rehman Malik on Wednesday claimed that the investigation team has found some authentic clues on Kohistan bus firing incident, saying the responsible would not be spared and brought to justice.
"As per initial information 20 terrorists intercepted the buses while some of them were hiding in the mountains. We would trace them soon," he said while talking to media persons after announcing regularization of more than 14,000 employees of National Database and Registration Authority here.
He said the firing on Gilgit-bound bus in Kohistan was a conspiracy to destabilize the country and added those, who were trying to give the incident a sectarian colour, would not succeed in their nefarious designs as security in the area had been beefed up.
He said out of 18 victims, eight belonged to Gilgit, seven to Hunza Nagar and three to Astore district of Gilgit-Baltistan.
He appreciated joint investigation team headed by DIG Hazara Division and said the team was working well in tracing out the criminals.
Rehman Malik said he had also talked to the religious scholars in Gilgit and appreciated their cooperation for peace in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Answering a question on issue of Balochistan, the Minister said dialogue with all political groups was being conducted to ensure peace in the province.
He requested media to avoid coverage of those elements who are working against the country, adding that the government knows what is their agenda.
Malik said it is the government of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) which realized the problems of people of Balochistan and it announced Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Balochistan for the development of the province.
He said in order to ensure education for Baloch children, 15,000 young graduates and post graduates from Balochistan are being given employment under the Prime Minister Internship Programme.
The Minister said Rs. 15,000 per month internship stipend would be given to each intern who would work as school teacher in the province.
Moreover, Rehman Malik said 2400 Federal government's jobs would be filled on merit with the assistance of Members of National Assembly (MNAs) and Senators from Balochistan.
It has been decided to double the number of Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) beneficiaries from 375,000 to 750,000.
Replying to another question, the Interior Minister said there are now 48 missing people’s cases from Balochistan and the figure has been exaggerated in the past which was wrong. However, authorities are also trying to trace those 48 missing persons of the province.
Earlier, addressing the function, he said regularization of employees is part of PPP's manifesto and it would utilize all resources for the welfare of employees.
He said the regularization of NADRA employees would made from the date of announcement which is November 17, 2011.
He appreciated employees of NADRA and said their hard work has made the organization one of the best in the world.
The Minister directed the Chairman NADRA to establish a cell in the organisation to facilitate the employees and expedite the process of regularization.
Rehman Malik said corrupt officials have no place in NADRA and added stern action would be taken against those involved in fake CNIC scams. He also directed NADRA's management to enhance ratio of women of employment in the organisation from existing 14 per cent to 20 per cent.
On the occasion, Chairman NADRA congratulated employees and said they have been given options either get regularization or continue working on contract.
He said a proforma has been designed which would be filled up by each employee to get his/her consent.
The ceremony was attended by Secretary Interior, Deputy Chairman of NADRA and a large number of employees.
