labour-construction 400ISLAMABAD: Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA) has so far completed 8511 projects in earthquake hit areas of Azad Kashmir and areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhaw while work is continuing on other 5578 projects, said an official.

 

Among the projects completed from September 2008 to September 2012 are including health, education, clean drinking water, governance, transport, power projects and communication, he said.

 

After the earthquake of year 2005, Turkey had provided maximum aid to the country in the quake hit areas of AJK and Khyber Pakhtunkhaw. ERRA is establishing a Pak-Turk Friendship Village in Turkey, he said.

 

The problems in Rs12 billion New Balakot City project are being created by land mafia. A total of Rs3.5 billion has so far been spent on the New Balakot City project. The project would benefit over 5000 earthquake hit people.

 

The total budget of ERRA is Rs8 billion.

 

He said Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA), National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and Rescue 1122 should be placed under the administrative control of same ministry to help prompt coordination among the relief providing agencies.
