ISLAMABAD: The Government is focusing on developing additional resources of energy to overcome energy shortage in the country.
For this purpose, it will invest 248 billion rupees on different power projects during the next financial year.
According to Radio Pakistan quoting official sources that fifty-two billion rupees have been allocated for Stage 1 of Dasu Hydropower Project which will produce 2160 MW of electricity, twenty-one billion rupees have been earmarked for land acquisition and construction of Lot one to five for Diamer-Bhasha Dam and Hydropower Project.
Eleven billion rupees will be spent on Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Project having a capacity of 969 MW, eleven billion rupees on Tarbela-IV Extension Hydropower Project with a capacity of 1410 MW and five billion rupees have been set aside for up-gradation of Guddu Power Project having a capacity of 747 MW of highly economical power.
