ISLAMABAD: Political parties in Pakistan have termed Afghan President Ashraf Ghani's statement unfortunate, in which he expressed disappointment with Pakistan's role in Afghan peace process.
Talking to Voice of America (VOA), PML-N Senator Abdul Qayum expressed regret over Ashraf Ghani's statement.
He said that Afghanistan does not appreciate Pakistan's efforts for restoration of peace in Afghanistan.
"Incumbent Government and Army Chief in Pakistan want more cooperation with Afghanistan. Unfortunately, there are some elements in Afghanistan which want to disrupt Pak-Afghan relations," he said.
He added that Ashraf Ghani statement represents the stance of those elements.
Similarly, ANP leader Zahid Khan also said that Ashraf Ghani had no option just to express disappointment with Pakistan.
He said that China and the US, being members of Quadrilateral Coordination Committee, should unearth those elements, who are responsible for failure of Afghan peace talks.
