imageKARACHI: Ex-Test Cricketer Jalaluddin formally opened the Nazimabad Super Cup T20 Tournament as he hit the ball during a colorful ceremony held Saturday.

The tournament will be played from 1st of Ramzan at the KCCA Stadium North Nazimabad.First match will be played between Qasmi Gymkhana and United Sports at KCCA Ground North Nazimabad.

Inter National Cricketer Anwer Ali, first class cricketer Shoaib Habib, Sajid Abbasi, Zafar Ahmed, Anwar-ul-Haq, Shahid Wadood, Ilyas Khan, test umpire Riazuddin and Azam Khan of Pakistan Cricket Club, Omar Associates and Quetta Gladiator were also present on this occasion along with the president organizing committee Tahir Nisar, Secretary Mirza Azam Baig and Chief Organizer M. Raisuddin.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest test cricketer Jalaluddin appreciating the holding of Nazimabad Super Cup T-20 said the young and emerging talent of the city would be benefitted from this and get the opportunity to showcase their talent in a quality environment.

He said we have lot of talent here and only needs cricket matches to be played on good and higher level.

He called it a good omen that the city's under 16 team became national champion and said encouragement of players was key to success.

He also urged the organizers to encourage the young local talent by giving them their due share in the income.

The chief guest offered his full support and cooperation for the event and expressed the hope that this tournament would revive the tradition of high class competitive T-20 cricket in the city.

Test umpire Riazuddin, president organizing committee Tahir Nisar and others also addressed the inaugural ceremony.

The Nazimabad Super Cup T-20 2016 will be played on league basis having the total prize money of Rs187,000.

All matches will start at 2:00 pm. The winner will get Rs100,000 cash reward whereas the runner up will receive Rs50,000. The best batsman and best bowler of the tournament will get Rs10,000 and the man of the match also to receive Rs1000.
