cameron 400KARACHI: Britain Prime Minister David Cameron said the Olympics was a boost for the Union and economic revival of the country.

Cameron said the two-week sporting mega-event had brought the nations of the UK closer together.

He said the whole country had united behind the sight of athletes from the four corners of the land.

“It’s a Britain where English, Scottish, Welsh, Northern Irish compete in one team and drape
themselves in one flag,” he said.

He assured that with the same spirit and determination by athletes, politicians, and public could take the country out of its economic depression.

He spoke at a Downing Street press conference called to announce that sports would continue
to receive £125million a year up to the next Games in Rio de Janeiro.

“You only need two words to sum up these Games: Britain delivered,” he said.

“We showed the world what we are made of, we reminded ourselves what we can do and we
demonstrated that you should never ever count Team GB down and out,” he added.
