SC to hear target killing case in Karachi
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Friday fixed August 29 a date for next hearing of a suo motu case regarding incidents of target killing in Karachi, the port city of country.
A five-member special bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry in its order said that the upcoming hearing would be held in Karachi.
The bench accepted requests of Attorney General for Pakistan Molvi Anwarul Haq, Advocate General Sindh Abdul Fatah Malik and Abdul Hafeez Pirzada, counsel for Chief Minister Sindh to file their reports and granted time till next date of hearing.
While Dr Babar Awan represented the Federation.
The bench also accepted a plea moved by Awami National Party chief Asfandyar Wali Khan through Syed Iftikhar Gillani, for becoming a party in the case.
Advocate General Sindh apprised the bench that so far more than 500 FIRs had been registered in such cases.
