KARACHI: Sindh Governor, Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan, has directed the Administrator Karachi to ensure that all the employees are paid salaries on time.
He was chairing a meeting held at the Governor House here, said a statement on Sunday, which considered the matters pertaining to the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC).
The Governor said that for this the record of the employees should be maintained in a precise and transparent manner.
The statement said that he expressed concern over the information pertaining to the reported presence of 1,400 `fake employees' and directed that the record of the employees should be computerised and foolproof arrangements to be made to keep it transparent.
Dr. Ishrat said that the government lands near the Expo Centre, National Stadium and the Airport be utilised in the best possible manner.
He was of the view that the setting up of shopping malls, banks, hotels and other facilities would help spur the economic activities and would prove beneficial for the people.
The Governor said that for the City Government projects, the land allocated by the provincial government near the Northern Bypass should also be utilised at the earliest.
The meeting was attended by Provincial Secretary Local Bodies, Ali Muhammad, Administrator Karachi, Muhammad Hussain Syed, and Principal Secretary to the Governor, Mumtaz- ur- Rehman, and other officials.
