KARACHI: The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sindh, Fayyaz Ahmed Leghari, has called for beefing up security at the jails.
A police statement here on Thursday said that he issued directives to this effect to the concerned police ranges district- wise.
He instructed that there should be additional deployment of police personnel and at conspicuous places.
The IGP also called for devising a security strategy and taking steps in consultation with the administrations of the jails.
He further instructed that the patrolling around the jails should be enhanced and a vigilant eye be kept on the activities of the suspects.
The IGP stressed that there should be effective snap checking and picketing.
