SEOUL: One worker was killed and 13 injured when an explosion ripped a tank apart at a South Korean chemical plant on Thursday, the company and firefighters said.
A 200-litre (52-gallon) tank containing inflammable material exploded at an LG Chem plant in the central city of Cheongju.
The explosion did not start a fire and property damage was slight, a company spokesman said. An investigation has begun into the cause of the blast.
