(Karachi) Sindh Information Minister Nasir Hussain Shah has said that the coronavirus situation in the province is alarming and the number of patients are increasing on a daily basis.
Addressing a press conference along with PPP cabinet members in Karachi on Tuesday, he said that it is need of the hour for public to follow SOPs and take precautionary measures.
Shah maintained that it is the responsibility of the government to implement on guidelines and SOPs to curb spread of the virus.
He pointed out that people should avoid large gatherings and meetings in groups. "Coronavirus is not going anywhere and we have to live with it," he remarked.
The minister highlighted that transport has been permitted to operate from tomorrow with strict SOPs. He mentioned that all shops and markets will open five days a week but a complete lockdown will be imposed on weekends (Satrurday and Sunday).
He added the provincial government is implementing on the decisions taken by the federal government.
He warned people against using violence against doctors, paramedics and hospital staff.
He said that the chief minister has taken "strict notice" of an incident that occurred in the Civil Hospital that occurred a few days ago.
