Prime Minister Imran Khan convened a special meeting of the federal cabinet on the budget 2020-21 today (Friday). The meeting of the Federal Cabinet will be held at the Prime Minister's House and will give final approval to the budget.
As per details, Advisor to PM on Finance Abdul Hafeez Sheikh will give a special briefing on the federal budget in the cabinet meeting.
The cabinet will be briefed on development budget subsidies, exports, loans on imports. In addition, briefings will be given on aggregate grants, tax rates, defense and education budgets.Prime Minister Imran Khan will also address the special session and the cabinet members will be taken into confidence on the overall budget including expenditure, revenue, deficit, and coronavirus relief package.
The final decision on the increase in salaries and pensions of government employees will also be taken at a special cabinet meeting.
Federal Minister for Industries and Production, Hammad Azhar will present Federal Budget for the year, 2020-21 in the National Assembly today at 4:00 pm.
As per details, the estimated outlay of the upcoming budget is around Rs7.5 trillion, the budget had been formulated considering the impact of coronavirus pandemic on the people and businesses of the country.
