PESHAWAR: While rejecting the constitution of the 10th National Finance Commission (NFC), the speakers at the all parties conference (APC), convened by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pakistan People's Party (PPP), on Saturday demanded of the government to reconstitute the commission and increase provincial share.
The APC was held to deliberate on government policies in the wake of the novel coronavirus pandemic. It was chaired by PPP provincial president Hamayun Khan.
Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, provincial Amir of the Jamaat-e-Islami, Maulana Attaur Rehman of JUI-F, Sardar Hussain Babak of ANP, Hashim Babar of Qaumi Watan Party, Mukhtar Bacha of Pakistan National Party, Intikab Chamkani of PML-N, Mukhtiyar Yousafzai of the Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party and Fayyaz Khan of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan participated in the multi-party conference.
The speakers rejected the constitution of the 10th National Finance Commission (NFC), saying that the inclusion of unrelated and non-local people on the commission was tantamount to compromising provincial autonomy.
