(Karachi) The government has extended the validity of all visa types issued to foreign nationals, currently living in Pakistan till August 31, media reported on Thursday.
As per details, the decision has been taken in wake of coronavirus pandemic and the visa extension will be applicable to those whose visas expired on March 15, 2020.
Several foreigners were stranded in Pakistan after the government enforced lockdown across the country and banned flight operations.
Pakistan initiated a special repatriation operation to facilitate thousands of citizens stranded across the globe due to the coronavirus pandemic.
There are over 100,000 Pakistanis stranded in 88 countries, with a majority in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia. Several countries, including the US, UAE, and Saudi Arabia, have given permission for special flights by the national flag carrier Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).
