Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's budget for the next financial year 2020-21 will be presented today (Friday) at KP Assembly.
Finance Minister KP Taimur Saleem Jhagra will present the budget, with a budget outlay of Rs923 billion and a deficit of Rs90 billion. As per details, the government will take more loans to cover the budget deficit.
The budget session of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has been convened at 3:00pm today. Rs16 billion has been proposed to be set aside for interest payment of loans, it is also proposed to allocate Rs15 billion in the budget for Coronavirus efforts.
The budget proposed to allocate Rs165 billion for the tribal districts, with Rs62 billion in net profit and arrears of electricity.
Under the budget, the province will get Rs50 billion for the war on terror and the province will get Rs25 billion in oil and gas royalties.
Rs317 billion has also been proposed for the next Annual Development Program (ADP). There is a proposal in the ADP to set aside Rs104 billion for settled areas.
The budget also includes foreign aid of Rs85 billion in ADP. According to sources, the budget is likely to set aside Rs30.20 billion for education and more than Rs11.43 billion for energy.
