He termed Ahad Khan Cheema, Director General Lahore Development Authority, the hero of Metro Bus Project and pointed out that Transparency International also awarded the LDA DG the highest medal that this project worth Rs.30 billion had been executed in a transparent manner.
He expressed these views while addressing the inaugural ceremony of newly-constructed Sports Complex at Johar Town, here, on Friday.
He added that completion of the Sports Complex was another feather in his cap and he deserved full marks for providing sports facilities to the youth of the city.
Earlier, the chief minister had a round of the Sports Complex and inspected facilities that had been provided there.
Ahad Khan Cheema told Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif that this Sports Complex had been constructed on a 32 kanal piece of land worth Rs. 600 million. The infrastructure had been constructed at a cost of Rs 400 million. Hence the total worth of this facility was Rs one billion.
He informed that two separate swimming pools, two gymnasium and two tennis courts, one each of man and women, had been set up in the Sports Complex. Basket ball court, jogging track, squash court, table tennis hall, badminton court and snooker hall had also been established in the sports complex besides making adequate arrangements for security and provision of other facilities like Caf? and dining hall.
