ZAB case to set precedence for re-opening death sentence cases: CJP

A larger bench of the Supreme Court will hear the Bhutto reference case, the CJP said.

President Asif Ali Zardari had sent reference to the Supreme Court (SC) under article 186 of the Constitution.

The SC has been prayed to give its opinion for re-opening of the Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto murder case.

A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry is heading a three-member bench hearing the case.

According to Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry the draft of the reference has weaknesses, adding they need to be corrected.
