25000 police force to be deployed in Hyderabad region for security

HYDERABAD: Foolproof security plan has been prepared for Hyderabad Region under which 25,000 police personnel were being deployed to maintain the law & order before and during the elections.

DIG Police Hyderabad Akram Naeem briefed Caretaker Sindh Chief Minister Justice Zahid Qurban Alvi (Retd) in a meeting on law & order at Old Zila Nazim Secretariat on Saturday.

He said that in addition to extensive police patrolling, security to contesting members, election commission, judicial officers and other stakeholders has also been arranged.

DIG told that sensitive polling stations have been identified where special arrangements for security would be made.

He said that he was optimistic that the forthcoming elections would be held in peaceful atmosphere.

Caretaker Chief Minister assured that he was committed for the empowerment of Sindh Police and also intends to strengthen them as well to ensure the protection of the people.

He directed the officers to remain fully impartial while dealing with the administrative matters and ensure easy access of each voter to the polling booth.

He also directed them to provide full support to the Election Commission and judiciary in conducting free and fair elections.

Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad Jamal Mustafa Syed briefing the meeting said that his administration has provided staff and transport support to the Election Commission and judiciary.

He said that all the DCs of his division were in close coordination with the Election Commission to provide them facility.
