BEIJING: Production at China's factories, workshops and mines rose 8.9 percent year-on-year in March, the government said Monday.

Industrial output in the world's second-largest economy also increased 9.5 percent in the first quarter of 2013 compared with the same period last year, the National Bureau of Statistics said.
