KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain Tuesday paid glowing tributes to party's former chairman Azeem Ahmed Tariq and other Haq Parasts for sacrificing their lives.

In a statement on the 20th death anniversary of Azeem Tariq, he said the sacrifices of MQM's martyrs would not be forgotten because those nations which forget their martyrs never succeed.

He said the murder of Azeem Tariq was a part of conspiracy to wipe out the MQM and the same conspiracy is still continuing today.

The MQM chief said the act of not apprehending killers of Azeem Ahmed Tariq and other Haq Parasts even after a lapse of 20 years is a prove of the fact that the conspiracy not only existed today but it has been intensified to a great extent.

He said that the message of the party, despite all kinds of oppression and suppression against its workers, has now been spread in every nook and cranny of the country and, hence the sacrifices laid down by martyrs would not go in vain.

Later, he prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed souls of Azeem Ahmed Tariq and other martyrs in eternal peace.
