Three killed, 35 injured in twin blasts in Azizabad

KARACHI: Three people including a minor were killed and 35 others including a woman sustained injuries in two blasts in succession in Azizabad area here on Saturday evening.

This was stated by the Deputy Commissioner of Karachi Central, Dr. Saif ur Rehman.

He said that the blasts took place at the Morewala (Peacock) Chowk in Azizabad No. 8 near the election office of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).

The injured have been shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, Dr. Saif ur Rehman added.

He said that those injured including three personnel of Rangers, three policemen and reporter of a private television channel.

Dr. Saif ur Rehman said that the bomb disposal squad and personnel of Special Branch reached the site of the blasts.

The personnel of the Bomb Disposal Squad searched and cleared.
