The SC has also directed the concerned authorities to speed up the investigation in the case.
Meanwhile, The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has submitted its final report in the Rs9 billion Bank of Punjab (BoP) fraud case to the Supreme Court on Wednesday.
The report states that the actual amount is more than Rs.77 billion and that while the BoP showed profits from 2005 to 2008 it was actually running in a loss.
Additional Inspector-General, Punjab Police, Aftab Sultan also submitted his report in the BoP fraud case. In the report he has stated that the former president of the bank Hamesh Khan, had issued loans with the help of the board members of the bank.
It may be mentioned that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has recovered Rs60 billion to Rs70 billion through settlement.
