PESHAWAR: The newly elected Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Farid Khan Aurakzai belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf was shot dead by unidentified assailants in main Hangu bazar, Deputy Commissioner office told APP.

The MPA was on his way home when some unknown attackers riding a motorbike ambushed his vehicle in Sangera area in Main Hangu bazaar chowk and sprayed it with bullets, killing him on the spot. The bodyguard of the MPA was injured in the firing.

Farid Khan Aurakzai had won the general election 2013 as a independent candidate but later joined Pakistan Tehrik Insaf.
