May 11 polls enhanced prestige of Pakistan in comity of nations: Ebad

KARACHI: The May 11 general elections in Pakistan have been welcomed internationally and enhanced the prestige of the country in the comity of nations.

This was stated by Sindh Governor, Dr. Ishrat- ul- Ebad Khan.

He was talking to the envoy of France, Philippe Thiebaud, and of Vatican, Father Robert, who called on him at the Governor House here separately.

The Governor further pointed out that there was continuity of democracy in Pakistan.

He was of the view that democracy is considered as the guarantee for progress and development.

Dr. Ishrat asked the developed countries to assist Pakistan in overcoming the economic challenges and ensure more and more investment.

He was of the view that Pakistan was an attractive place for investment and that an advantage of this should be taken.

The Governor said that for fostering inter-faith harmony, the minorities have been given representation at every level.

The envoy of France said that recently French companies have come up with investment in Pakistan and their efforts are to invest more.

He further pointed out that he would persuade more investors to come up with investment.

Father Robert lauded the efforts of the Sindh Governor towards inter-faith harmony.
