TSX turns lower as gold miners weigh

TORONTO: Canada's main stock index turned negative on Tuesday after a sharp drop in shares of gold producers, following a weaker bullion, offset strength in the energy sector.

The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index was down 5.53 points, or 0.05 percent, at 12,123.58 in mid-afternoon trade.
