PPP observes day of mourning against Bilal Sheikh's killing

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Thursday observed day of mourning across Sindh to protest against the killing of President Zardari’s chief security officer Bilal Sheikh in a suicide attack in Karachi.

All markets and business centers were remained open and transport remained usual during the mourning day observed peacefully according to announcement of Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon.

During the mourning day, the PPP suspended all organisational activities to protest in Sindh.

The top security chief of President Zardari was killed along with his driver and a fruit vendor when a suicide bomber blew himself up near his bulletproof vehicle in Guru Mandir area of Karachi on Wednesday evening.

The victim’s funeral prayer was offered at his residence in Gulbahar on Thursday and his body was buried in the graveyard near Liaqatabad.
