165 villages flooded in Muzaffargarh

MUZAFFARGARH: About 165 villages of tehsil Alipur and tehsil Jatoi are flooded due to high level flood in River Indus and low level flood river Chenab.

According to official sources, the floods destroyed standing crops including cotton, pulses, rice and others on thousands of acres of land.

The populated areas of tehsil Alipur Sarki, Beat Parara, Dhaka, Khangarh, Nonari, Shakarani, Mazaari, Hamzaywali, Doma, Kundani, Basti Garral and other areas are surrounded by flood water.

The district administration has set up relief camps at Kherpur Sadaat, Seetpur, Kundai, Thaheemwala, Head Panjnad and Sultanpur. According to assistant commissioner Alipur Asif Lodhi, the floods relief activities are heading forward smoothly.
