Stock market closes lower for second consecutive day

KARACHI: The Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) bench mark 100-index on Wednesday closed lower on second consecutive day.

KSE-100 index decreased by 471.96 points to close at 23015.27 while its 30-index decreased by 420.32 points to 18295.20.

Out of total 354 active scrips, 86 moved up while 247 shed values and 21 remained unchanged.

Significant increase of Rs 31.40 was recorded in the stocks of Wyeth Pak Ltd to close at Rs 2431.40 while the stocks of Indus Dyeing went up by Rs 17 to close at Rs 797.

Siemens Pakistan and Clariant Pak lost their per share value by Rs 57.73 to close Rs 1,047 and Rs 1,561 to close at Rs 296.76 respectively.

Most active trading of 51887500 shares was recorded in Fauji Cement.

Total market turnover remained at 252124290 shares as compared to previous 182675150 shares.

In future trading, the stocks of 4 scrips moved up while 115 shed values.
