He said that President Asif Ali Zardari addressed the House for six consecutive time but his address lack suggestions to resolves the grave problems being faced by the country.
He said that we could not tap our resources despite rich in coal, hydel and mineral etc.
He said the country's economic situation was very critical and continuously suffering due to energy crisis. However, no concrete step was taken to tap 500,000 MW cheap hydel potential and Thar coal which was largest coal reserves in the world.
He said that all the provinces were agreed on construction of Diamer Basha dam but now the government was planning to shelve the project and asked for preparing feasibility of Dasu power project.
He claimed that both PPP and PML-N were remained in power for several years; however, they did nothing to change density of the people.
Qureshi said that the President called for setting up Truth and Reconciliation Commission which was also a part of Charter of Democracy (CoD) but despite in power for last five years, PPP government could not established it.
He said that currently, tax collection was only 9 per cent of GDP which was very alarming situation and such economy could not survive without IMF support.
Regarding foreign policy, he said the government has not clear foreign policy particularly regarding its neighbors. Taking part in the debate, PPP lawmaker Ayaz Soomro said that President Asif Ali Zardari had addressed both the house six times which is historical. He also congratulated President for this achievement.
He said president had always taken all the political parties on board on all national issues. He said during his tenure, he had worked for the strengthening of democracy and institutions.
He said the President is leaving the presidency with respect and honor. He said PPP had not initiated any political motivated cases against any one.
Parliament is supreme institution of the country and all other institutions are answerable to it, he added.
Sheikh Rashid asked the people representatives to raise the issues of common people in the parliament.
He asked the government to take measures for providing food items on affordable rates.
He said the government should inform the house that from where it has paid Rs 500 billion to IPPs.
Sheikh Rashid said around 9000 cases of ransom were registered out of which 7000 were registered in Punjab.
He said around 2 million youth are needed employment. He asked the government to provide job opportunities to these educated youth.
