OKARA: Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Punjab President Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo has said that ex-president Asif Ali Zardari will remain in Pakistan and take part in active politics.

Talking to journalists at his residence here on Friday, Manzoor Wattoo said that he has no knowledge of changes in the provincial or central office bearers of the party. He said that he as central Punjab president, Makhdoom Shahabuddin as Southern Punjab president and Anwar Saifullah as KPK president had presented their resignations to the party leadership after the general elections and that have not been accepted so far. He said that all the talks about change in the party office bearers are based on speculations.

To a question, Manzoor Wattoo said that the All Parties Conference (APC) held to discuss the matter of national security reflect the collective wisdom of all the participants. He said criticizing the decision taken in the APC is equivalent to undermining the wisdom of the stake holder. He further said that they have great expectations from the APC and hoped that it would bring positive results.

To another question, he said that the federal government gave Rangers the authorities of police in Karachi to maintain the peace in the metropolis. This is a positive step and all political parties including MQM should support it.
