Dengue continues to spread wings, three more cases surface in Punjab

LAHORE: Despite tall claims of provincial government and health authorities for taking solid steps against dengue virus, the diseases outspread goes unchecked as three more cases were reported in Punjab on Saturday.

According to health authorities, dengue virus has been detected in three more patients hailing from various districts of Punjab raising total number of affectees to 121.

Punjab health department officials said that provincial government was utilizing all available resources to stop the spread of dengue. However, they said that the citizens should also adopt precautionary measures to control the outspread of dreadful diseases.

Meanwhile, the people of Punjab have expressed their dissatisfaction over the steps taken by provincial government and health authorities.

They were of the view that only big cities were being facilitated and no measures have been taken against dengue outspread in small cities and towns.

They also complained of lack of treatment facilities for dengue patients in government hospitals due to which they have to visit private hospitals where they were charged high amount further adding to their miseries.
