Democracy vital for economic development, prosperity: Qaim

KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, has said that democracy is most vital element for economic development and prosperity of any country.

With continuing democracy, Pakistan would also make a rapid development like Malaysia.

He was talking to the mediamen at a local hotel on where participated in the celebration of 56th National Day of Malaysia.

While responding a question about economic comparison with Malaysia, the CM, said that Malaysia is ahead of us because the people of Malaysia were enjoying the established democracy since decades.

Qaim said that we are experiencing democratic rules here for the last 5 to 6 years.

He said that though Malaysia is ahead of Pakistan economically, but thousands of technical hand people from the Pakistan were working and contributing for the development of Malaysia.

He said that Malaysia is best friend country of Pakistan and we have strong cultural, religious and economical relations with Malaysia.

The CM said the PPP, during its last five years' tenure of government in the Centre, further strengthened the Pak-Malaysia relations.

He said that we are optimistic that Pak-Malaysia relations would be further strengthened in the years ahead.

Qaim stated that there are many things common between the two countries.

He congratulated the Consul General and the people of Malaysia on the occasion of their 56th National Day.
