Five killed, six injured in Quetta firing

"A group of vegetable sellers riding on a single cabin vehicle No. PA-732 loaded with vegetables was on way to Quetta city from Hazarganji vegetable market located in suburb of the provincial capital when unidentified armed men riding on bikes opened fire at the vehicle near Mirgahi Chowk Hazaragani," police said.

As a result of firing, four vegetable sellers were killed on the spot and seven others including five vegetable sellers and two pedestrians sustained injuries.

The dead and injured had been shifted to Bolan Medical Complex.

Later, one of the injured succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

The dead were identified as Ali Ahmed, Ghulam Nabi, Ishaq Ali, Qurban Ali and Hanif.

The injured were identified as Jan Ali, Mohammad Ali, Yar Muhammad, Haji Juma, Rasheed and Muhammad Qasim.

Heavy contingent of police and law enforcement agencies have reached the site and cordoned off the entire area to trace out and arrest the attackers who after attacking had managed to flee.

Further investigation was underway.
