The committee comprising Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui and IHC Registrar Meeran Jan Kakar, was directed to start inquiry as per directive of the Supreme Court given by the latter during the Monday's proceedings of the suo moto case regarding the district courts terror attack, said Imran Sikandari, focal person of the committee, in a statement on Tuesday.
The committee would start its proceedings in the court of District & Sessions Judge-West on Wednesday, he said.
Imran Sikandri said that the inquiry committee would record the statements of all judicial officers of the district judiciary, paralegal staff and the lawyers, who were injured in the said incident as well as those individuals taken into custody by the police during the initial probe.
He requested the media personnel, who have any sort of information, evidence in the shape of footage or audio-video clippings, to appear before the committee with relevant material.
Similarly, any one from the public having any sort of credible information regrading the incident may approach the inquiry committee for statement or assistance, he added.
The committee has already procured initial reports from Inspector General Police, Deputy Commissioner and Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences regarding the incident, Imran said.
The committee would submit its report with recommendations after the completion of inquiry to the IHC Chief Justice for further action in accordance with law, he added.
