ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court on Tuesday issued notices to the Secretary Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination, Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Najam Sethi, members of ad hoc committee and sought reply from them by May 15, on a plea against termination of Zaka Asharf.

A single member bench of IHC comprising Justice Noor-ul-Haq N Qureshi resumed hearing of a plea filed by former coach of Army Cricket team, Ahmed Nadeem Saddal, seeking direction for restoration of Zaka Ashraf as Chairman PCB.

During course of hearing, counsel for petitioner, Riasat Ali Azad requested the bench to direct the government to implement the court orders for reinstatement of Zaka Ashraf as the Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) chairman.

He said that the notification issued to dissolve the board of governors was not according to the law and it should be declared null and void.

A division bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) comprising Justice Riaz Ahmed Khan and Justice Noor-ul-Haq N Qureshi on January 15 this year had reinstated Zaka Ashraf as the Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) chairman. However the federal government through an ad hoc management committee appointed Najam Sethi as Chairman PCB on Feb 10, 2014.
