CM announces compensation for victims of PIA plane firing incident

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak Wednesday announced compensation under Shaheed package for the victims of firing incident on Peshawar-bound PIA flight during landing at the airport late last night.

Under the announcement, the martyred woman's heirs will be paid Rs. 5 lacs while the injured will be given Rs. 2 lacs each.

The Chief Minister has directed the concerned authorities for arranging early payment of the compensation amounts.

He made clear that such meager money can't be substitute of precious human life and blood of innocent injured citizens. However he said that this amount was symbol of sharing the miseries of the terror affected families.

Meanwhile Pervez Khattak has condemned the terror act of firing on PIA plane during landing at Bacha Khan Airport Peshawar.

In a message, he said that terror attacks on the innocent poor workers coming home from overseas was heinous crime that has no justification and will not be allowed at any cost.

The Chief Minister soon after hearing about the incident contacted the concerned high authorities and directed for apprehending the culprits and making foolproof arrangements to avert such incidents in future.

He expressed deep sympathies with members of all affected families, prayed for eternal peace of the killed woman and early recovery of the injured.
