Ukraine extends truce with rebels until Monday: report

KIEV: Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko on Saturday extended a truce with pro-Russian rebels in the separatist east by another 72 hours, the Ukrainska Pravda news site reported.

The decision was reached following urgent consultation Poroshenko held with top Ukrainian defence officials on his arrival in Kiev from an EU summit in Brussels at which he signed an historic trade and political association pact. The one-week truce had been due to expire on Friday at 1900 GMT.
