LONDON: European stock markets were mixed on Friday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index gaining a modest 0.17 percent to close at 6,749.45 points.

In Frankfurt, the DAX index slipped by 0.35 percent to 9,720.02 points, while in Paris the CAC 40 ended the day 0.44 percent higher at 4,335.31.
