Obama to speak on Iraq at 2045 GMT: White House

WASHINGTON: US President Barack Obama will give a statement on the latest developments in Iraq on Monday, with Baghdad in political turmoil after premier Nuri al-Maliki rejected the nomination of a successor.

The speech, scheduled for 4:45 pm (2045 GMT), will be given from Martha's Vineyard, the island in Massachusetts off the US east coast, where the Obama family is on vacation, the White House said.
