LONDON: European stock markets bounced back with solid gains on Wednesday, as London's benchmark FTSE 100 index closed 0.37 percent higher at 6,656.68 points.

In Frankfurt, the DAX jumped 1.43 percent to 9,198.88, while in Paris the CAC 40 gained 0.78 percent to 4,194.79 points.
